Delete your Bunbuku account

You can request deletion of your Bunbuku account and associated learning data without reinstalling the app.

In the app or web app

1. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
2. Open Profile, then Settings.
3. Select Delete account and confirm the deletion.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@bunbuku.com with the subject “Bunbuku account deletion”. Send it from your account email if possible. We may ask for information to verify that the account is yours; never send your password.

What is deleted

Deletion removes your sign-in account and app learning data, including conversation text, personal generated speech and its replay links, corrections, vocabulary progress, lesson history and preferences. Deletion also cancels the linked Stripe subscription. Apple and Google subscriptions must be cancelled separately to stop renewal. Use Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. You can delete your account without waiting for a store subscription to expire.

Payment records required for accounting or legal obligations and provider logs or backups may be retained separately. Account deletion queues erasure of account-linked PostHog analytics after a 24-hour delay, with retries if the request fails. Unlinked anonymous activity may need a separate request. Personal generated speech is removed from active storage with your account. Shared authored lesson and vocabulary audio is retained separately. Older clips removed from the previous shared cache may remain recoverable for up to 7 days, as described in the Privacy policy. A hashed deletion marker remains to prevent old sessions or billing notifications from restoring the account. See the Privacy policy.

If you used Sign in with Apple and automatic revocation is unavailable, the app will show how to remove Bunbuku from your Apple Account after deletion.

Guest data or a narrower request

Contact us if you used Bunbuku without an account, or want to request deletion of specific data without closing your account. Clearing cookies or uninstalling alone does not remove server-side learning data.
